A quiet design shift is happening in Marbella. As we look ahead to trends for the rest of 2025, the interiors we live in are evolving they’re softening, deepening, becoming more expressive. The white-box minimalism of recent years is giving way to emotion, craftsmanship, and character. This shift reflects more than style; it signals a new way of thinking about how we live.

1. DESIGNING FOR EMOTION

Today’s interiors aim to reflect how we want to feel and live, rather than just follow trends. Clients seek warmth, texture, and a deeper bond with their homes. For me, this shift is exciting, especially since I love working with handmade and unique details and interior pieces. The best spaces balance contrasts: sleek and soft, modern and traditional, structured and organic. When paired with carefully chosen art, rooms become both visually appealing and emotionally powerful.

2. TEXTURES THAT SPEAK TO THE SENSES

Texture is no longer just an accent; it has become a central design element. Velvet, bouclé, and brushed wool invite touch and comfort. Meanwhile, ceramics, clay, terracotta, and sculpted wood reveal artisanal quality and an organic sense of touch. Nostalgic materials like burl wood and pine are returning, reimagined through a modern lens. I love seeing clients light up when a texture or surface brings back a memory. 3D wall treatments, such as fluted panels, ribbed
plaster, and sculptural finishes make walls feel alive. Wallpaper no longer plays a supporting role as it now stretches across
walls and ceilings,
softening architecture and adding a layered,
tactile richness.

There’s a growing appreciation for vintage and secondhand pieces with soul. Whether it’s a flea market treasure or a beloved family heritage piece, these items bring history and character into a space. Mixing old and new isn’t just about aesthetics, it’s a value statement. In a world of mass production, authenticity, sustainability, and individuality shine through in layered, collected interiors. I often encourage clients to trust their instincts and embrace what they truly love, even if it doesn’t “match” exactly.
